Most single-spring jobs take 45–90 minutes from arrival to fully tested. Dual-spring systems take a little longer. We carry the springs on the truck so there's no waiting on parts.
We strongly recommend against it. Torsion springs are under extreme tension and have caused serious injuries — including in experienced DIYers. The savings (about $80–$120 in labor) is not worth the ER bill.
If your door has two springs, yes — they wear at the same rate, so the second is usually within a few months of failure. Doing both at once costs ~30% more parts but saves a second service-call later.
